Introduction Welcome to Signals of You. These Terms of Use govern your use of the Signals of You mobile application (the "App"), developed and operated by David Kanis, Theresienstr. 81f, 80333 München, Germany ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using Signals of You, you agree to comply with these Terms.
Eligibility Signals of You is intended for users who wish to track their fertility cycles. The App is not designed for minors. If you are under the age of 18, you may use Signals of You only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Purpose of the App Signals of You is an educational tool that assists users in applying the symptothermal method, based on the rules developed and studied by Arbeitsgruppe NFP. The App is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.
User Responsibilities
- You must provide accurate information when using Signals of You to ensure the reliability of fertility tracking.
- You are responsible for your reproductive decisions and the use of any contraception.
- If you share your data with a partner, you must ensure that you have their explicit consent.
- On fertile days, additional contraceptive methods must be used if pregnancy prevention is desired.
- Signals of You does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
Disclaimer of Liability
- While studies have shown the symptothermal method to be highly effective (Pearl Index: 0.6), no fertility prediction method is 100% accurate.
- The accuracy of predictions depends on user-entered data, and Signals of You does not guarantee pregnancy prevention or conception.
- Signals of You assumes no liability for unintended pregnancies, health consequences, or reliance on App predictions.
- Signals of You does not replace professional medical consultation. Users should always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making decisions regarding contraception, fertility, or reproductive health.
Account Registration To use Signals of You, you must create an account by providing your first name, email address, and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login information.
Data Collection & Privacy
- The App collects fertility-related data entered by the user (e.g., temperature, mucus quality, intercourse data) and stores it on Firebase Firestore (EU-based server).
- Data is only cached on the user’s device and not permanently stored locally.
- You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time using the App’s account deletion feature.
- We process your data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Firebase Firestore acts as a data processor under GDPR regulations. For more information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
Donations Signals of You may allow users to make voluntary donations to support the project. Donations do not grant any special privileges or rights within the App.
Intellectual Property All content and materials in Signals of You are owned by or licensed to us and protected under copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit any content from Signals of You without our permission. If users submit any content, including feedback or shared data, they grant Signals of You a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use such content for improving the service.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Munich, Germany.
Amendments to These Terms We reserve the right to update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify users through the App or via email where applicable. Continued use of Signals of You after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
